Earth Day

A breath of fresh air

April 22nd. Earth Day. A day of awareness for our environment.

A little history lesson...

Earth Day was founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson in a seven year period beginning in 1962 to 1969. In the words of Gaylord Nelson,

"We had neither the time, nor the resources to organize 20 million demonstrators and the thousands of schools and local communities that participated. That was the remarkable thing about Earth Day. It organized itself."

There are so many different ways to help out...

  1. Recycle - sure you have to sort but hey it's a small step!

  2. Plant a tree - get down and dirty!

  3. Turn off some lights - those monsters won't get you!

  4. Don't use plastic bags - so out of style!

  5. Get new GE lightbulbs - go green and save some green!

So now that you know the origin of Earth Day and a few helpful hints to getting started, get up and start making a difference. That's right! NOW.
